March and Forum Against Fracking

Organization:

From FoodandWaterWatch.org

Join us for a rally against fracking at the Democratic Governors Association conference being held at the National Harbor in Maryland. Tell Democratic Governors to keep fracking out of our communities!

Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, the host of the policy conference, is considering moving forward with allowing fracking in Maryland.

Several other Democratic governors, including Governor Cuomo (NY), Governor Hickenlooper (CO), Governor Quinn (IL) and Governor Brown (CA), are making critical decisions about fracking in their states.

Many of these leaders have further political ambitions — let's make it clear to them that the path to the White House is not lined with gas and oil rigs.

Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Stop the Frack Attack People's Forum

The Stop the Frack Attack Network is calling on fracktivists everywhere to come to DC to tell the real story about oil and gas drilling!

Despite the dirty and dangerous drilling and fracking occurring across the United States, many of our politicians continue to buy into the myth of the “all of the above” energy plan, putting our health and the environment at risk, and continuing our unnecessary dependence on fossil fuels.

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee is holding a series of forums on natural gas in May, none of which can fully represent the many voices impacted by fracking.

Sign up here to come to DC and tell your oil and gas impact story, lobby your representatives to close federal loopholes in our major environmental laws, and make sure that politicians know that fossil fuel extraction is part of the problem, not the solution.

The group Environmental Action is asking people to share a story about what land, water, or community nearby would be affected by fracking or already has been affected:
